What we set
| Cookie | Set by | What it does | Type | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| sb-<project>-auth-token | CricArcade | Keeps you signed in between visits. Set only if you sign in with Google. | Strictly necessary | Until you sign out |
| _ga, _ga_<id> | Google Analytics 4 | Counts visits and tells one visit apart from another, so we can see which pages and which games get played. Not used to identify you. | Analytics | Up to 2 years |
| Google advertising cookies | Chooses the ads you see, limits how often the same ad repeats, and measures whether an ad worked. Set by Google when ads load. | Advertising | Varies by cookie, up to 2 years | |
| Consent record | Google Funding Choices | Remembers the choice you made in the consent banner so you are not asked on every page. | Strictly necessary | Up to 13 months |
How consent works
Visitors in the UK, the EEA and Switzerland see a consent message from Google’s certified consent platform before any analytics or advertising cookie is set. Until you choose, Google’s tags start in a denied state (Google Consent Mode), so they set no analytics or advertising cookies, and anything they send has advertising identifiers removed.
Accepting lets the analytics and advertising cookies in the table above be set. Declining keeps them off; ads still appear, chosen from the page you are reading rather than from a profile. Visitors outside those regions are not shown the message, and cookies are set by default.
Playing without any of them
Every game on CricArcade is fully playable signed out. In that mode your stats are kept in your browser’s local storage, which is not a cookie and is never sent to us. If you decline analytics and advertising cookies, the games still work exactly the same; you will still see ads, but they will be chosen without using your data.
Changing your mind
If you are in the UK, EU or Switzerland we ask before setting analytics or advertising cookies, and you can change that answer at any time from the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page. Elsewhere, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; every major browser lets you do this per site.
You can also opt out of personalised Google ads across every site that uses them at Google My Ad Center, and opt out of Google Analytics everywhere with Google’s browser add-on.
Who else can set them
Where CricArcade displays ads, they are served by Google. Google and its certified partners may set cookies to select and measure ads. The current list of those partners is published at Google’s ad technology providers. We do not set cookies for any other advertiser or data broker, and we never sell your data.
