⚡ QUICK MATCH
Draft your all-time dream XI from 3,151 players, choose any historical venue and era rules (1975 to Modern), and captain 50 overs.
🎯 CHASE 380
Draft a World Cup squad under pressure and chase down 380 across an intense multi-round knockout tournament.
About The Chase
The Chase is CricArcade's one-day international game. It began as a single challenge, chasing 380 without losing a wicket, and has grown into a full ODI captaincy game built on 3,151 real international cricketers and every men's Cricket World Cup squad from 1975 to 2023.
You are the captain and selector. You pick the side, set the batting order, choose who bowls each over and decide how hard to push, and the match is played out ball by ball around those decisions. There is no timing or reflex element: a result is only ever as good as your cricket judgement.
GAME MODES
- World Cup Career. Pick a nation and play the four-year cycle that leads to the next World Cup: bilateral series against a real touring schedule, a rankings table that moves with every result, and either automatic qualification or a Qualifier to fight through before the group stage, Super 7 and knockouts. Knockout ties go to a Super Over.
- Series Career. Home and away bilateral series against any Test-playing nation. You manage a 15-player squad, rotate tired bowlers, cover injuries and try to win series rather than single games.
- Quick Match. One ODI with an all-time XI drawn from 3,151 players, at any historical ground, under the playing conditions of any era from 1975 to the modern game.
- Chase 380. The original. Draft a World XI from real World Cup squads, pick from the players each roll offers or skip them, take the side through a tournament, and try to chase 380 without losing a wicket.
THE REAL CRICKET BEHIND IT
Squads are the real ones: all 13 men's World Cups from 1975 to 2023, and player records drawn from the full history of one-day internationals since 1971. Alongside the game sits an archive of 4,981 real ODI scorecards (1971 to August 2026) and a history page for every ODI team, from Australia and India to East Africa and Jersey.
The one-day game has changed shape more than any other format. Sixty-over World Cups, white balls and coloured clothing, fielding restrictions, two new balls and the Super Over all arrived at different times, so the conditions you choose change what a good total looks like and how a chase should be paced.
HOW TO PLAY
- Choose a mode, then a team: a nation for the careers, or an all-time pick for Quick Match and Chase 380.
- Pick an XI with real balance: openers who can see off the new ball, a middle order that can both rebuild and accelerate, a wicketkeeper, and five bowling options including at least one spinner.
- Set the batting order and the plan for the innings, then play. The match stops for the decisions a captain actually makes: the toss, who bowls the next over, and when to change the tempo.
- Careers save as you go. Finish a series or a tournament to see the table move and your players' form carry into the next fixture.
CAPTAINCY POINTERS
- Wickets in hand matter more than the run rate in the first half of a chase. Most big chases are won by the side that still has batters left for the last ten overs.
- Keep one of your best bowlers for the death. The overs from 40 to 50 decide more ODIs than the powerplay does.
- Do not pick five of the same kind of bowler. Variety of pace, angle and spin is how a captain answers a partnership.
- Read the ground. Some venues reward pace and bounce, others slow down and grip, and the same XI will not suit both.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- Can I really chase 380?
- Reaching 380 at all needs a strong platform and wickets in hand late; doing it without losing a wicket needs an exceptional XI and an innings with no collapse. The draft guide and Can You Chase 380 guide explain what it takes.
- Are the players and results real?
- The players, squads, grounds and historical scorecards are real. The matches you play are simulated, so your World Cup can end very differently from the one in the history books.
- Is it free, and do I need an account?
- Everything is free and runs in the browser with nothing to install. You can play signed out, with progress saved on your device; signing in with Google syncs careers across devices and puts your results on the leaderboards.
- Does it work on a phone?
- Yes. The games are built to work on phones as well as desktops, and careers save as you play.
