HOW THE IPL AUCTION WORKS

Build an IPL, BBL or global T20 franchise from the ground up in this cricket auction game. Auction an 18-man squad against a live salary cap, retain your core between seasons, and make in-game tactical calls: Power Surges, bowling changes, batting order, and pitch reads. Play a single Quick Play tournament with a fixed seed and a shareable result, or commit to Squad Mode, a multi-season franchise manager career where retention prices, transfer windows and club milestones carry across years. Every squad draws on real historical rosters, from the 2008 inaugural IPL season through the newest campaigns. No download and no account required to start; sign in to sync your career and rank on the global leaderboard.

From CricArcade's IPL records, 2008 to 2017 · Sources

Ashish Nehra, a bowler, played nine IPL seasons for five franchises. One title came along the way.

The arrival

Ashish Nehra was there from the start, in the league's first season, 2008, signed by Mumbai Indians outside the auction.

That first season brought 14 matches, 3 runs and 12 wickets at 7.73 an over.

The peak

The best season was 2015, for Chennai Super Kings: 22 wickets at 7.22 runs an over, while the league's bowlers went for 8.19, with best figures of 4 for 10. Two seasons brought 15 wickets or more (2009 and 2015).

Franchise by franchise

2008, Mumbai Indians. 14 matches and 12 wickets.

2009 to 2010, Delhi Daredevils. Arrived outside the auction. 17 matches and 25 wickets.

2012, Pune Warriors. Arrived outside the auction. 13 matches and 11 wickets.

2013, Delhi Daredevils, second time round. Back outside the auction. 10 matches and 11 wickets.

2014 to 2015, Chennai Super Kings. Bought at the 2014 auction for ₹2 cr. 20 matches and 30 wickets.

2016 to 2017, Sunrisers Hyderabad. Bought at the 2016 auction for ₹5.50 cr. 14 matches and 17 wickets; champions in 2016.

6 spells with five franchises in all. The longest was with Delhi Daredevils, 2009 to 2010. 2011 is missing from the record: a season without an IPL appearance.

How the wickets came

With the ball, 106 wickets in 1,917 deliveries, at 7.81 runs an over against a league rate of 7.84 for the same seasons, right on the going rate. There was one four-wicket haul, and the best figures were 4 for 10.

41.8% of the balls Ashish Nehra bowled were dots, a higher share than 90% of the 150 bowlers with 500 balls or more; a wicket came every 18 balls.

The fielding record: 17 catches and 2 run-outs.

At the auction

Ashish Nehra went under the hammer three times. The highest price was ₹5.50 cr, paid by Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2016. Being bought did not always mean playing: no match followed for Pune Warriors in 2011.

Seasons without an auction entry were played under a retention, a trade or a signing made outside the auction.

The legacy

Ashish Nehra made 88 IPL appearances, the last for Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2017, and won 6 player-of-the-match awards.
