HOW THE MATCH UNFOLDED

Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat. Mahela Udawatte and Kasun Rajitha played their first Tests.

Sri Lanka batted first and made 253 all out. Dinesh Chandimal top-scored with 119 not out off 186 balls, and Kusal Mendis made 45. Shannon Gabriel took 5 for 59 for West Indies.

West Indies replied with 300 all out. Devon Smith top-scored with 61 off 176 balls, and Shane Dowrich made 55. Lahiru Kumara took 4 for 86 for Sri Lanka. West Indies led by 47 on first innings.

Sri Lanka made 342 all out in their second innings. Kusal Mendis top-scored with 87 off 117 balls, and Niroshan Dickwella made 62. Shannon Gabriel took 8 for 62 for West Indies. The innings was built on a 117-run stand for the fifth wicket between Dinesh Chandimal and Kusal Mendis.
