HOW THE MATCH UNFOLDED

India won the toss and chose to field. Kieran Powell and Kirk Edwards played their first Tests.

West Indies batted first and made 204 all out. Carlton Baugh top-scored with 60 off 79 balls, and Darren Bravo made 50. Ishant Sharma took 5 for 77 for India.

India replied with 347 all out. MS Dhoni top-scored with 74 off 133 balls, and Abhinav Mukund made 62. Fidel Edwards took 5 for 103 for West Indies. The innings was built on a 103-run stand for the sixth wicket between MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina. India led by 143 on first innings.

West Indies made 322 all out in their second innings. Shivnarine Chanderpaul top-scored with 116 not out off 343 balls, and Kirk Edwards made 110. Harbhajan Singh took 4 for 75 for India.
