Hong Kong in ODI Cricket
The associate side whose ODI record covers 14 years of a schedule that never grew large: 26 matches, 9 wins.
Hong Kong reached ODI cricket in 2004 through the associate pathway and last played an ODI in 2018. The archive covers every match.
Origins and the WCL era
Hong Kong played their first ODI at the 2004 Asia Cup as the associate invitee, and returned at the 2008 Asia Cup and again from 2014, including the WCL Championship in 2015-2018.
Signature players
Nizakat Khan and Anshuman Rath opened together across the modern era; Nadeem Ahmed and Ehsan Khan led the bowling attack.
Home and away
Hong Kong have played 4 ODIs at home and 22 away. All four home matches were staged at Mission Road in 2016, for three wins and a loss.
Rivalries
PNG (8 ODIs, 4 wins to 4) and Scotland (5 ODIs, 2 wins to 2) fill the head-to-head fixtures. Against the current Full Members Hong Kong are 1 win in 9.
Since 2018
Hong Kong lost their ODI status at the 2018 World Cup Qualifier; their last ODIs came at the 2018 Asia Cup in Dubai, and they have not played one since. The pathway back is through the sub-regional T20 route.
